So what is the proper way to respond to a twitter message from the Blackberry? How do I find a twitter person and send them a message from the field?

Yes, echoing Richard Earnhardt's comment, I too am 'twitter-challenged', so pointers will help.

Thanks for this group Monique. I'm pretty savvy with Myspace and Facebook and LinkedIn...and I joined twitter but holy cow you can spend all day on these sites just trying to keep up!

How about a little tutorial on how Twitter is useful for our marketing purposes and what kinds of things to expect. I am currently Twitter-challenged :)

Welcome, everyone, to the new Tweet Group!

If you are not yet familiar with, this is a great way to help familiarize yourself with the unique (and highly addictive!) networking tool.

At its most basic level, Twitter is a social media site that allows you to "tweet" a group of people who have opted to follow your messages. Your messages are confined to a character limit of 140, so they all need to be short and sweet.

Many people use this application simply to tell others what they are doing during their daily, weekly or monthly routine. Others use this as a forum for business discussions, updates, newsfeeds and other informational outlets.

Very soon there will be a Tweet account that will keep all followers updated on what is happening here on the Pool Genius Network. I will add a post as soon as the account is made to let you know how to follow.

In the meantime, you should certainly be following the famously helpful Rex Richard, his tweet name is PoolGenius. You can also follow my tweets: MoniqueNelson.

To sign up for Twitter simply visit and fill out the quick and easy sign up form and you will be in business.

I will be posting discussion groups on a regular basis that will discuss various Twitter Techniques. I heartily encourage you all to help out with your comments and questions.

If any of you are on Twitter, make sure to comment and leave your Tweet name.

Keep watching for more information, this should be a great learning experience for everyone, myself included!
