I'd like to see some more on the Total Dissolved Solids and the effects the levels have on balance and effectiveness of sanitizers.

Thank you for the great education here Richard. I really appreciate your time and effort you are putting into this forum.

Thanks Richard to your many thoughtful contributions!  There are many out there who are reading and learning quietly.

I vote for   Lowering Total Alkalinity (TA)

I failed chemistry in school, and I've read enough of your posts, Richard, to accept that I will only understand about 10% of what you say (!), but I know that I will learn a lot here.  I am looking forward to it, and thank you for taking the time to put it out!

As you can see, I've filled in some info to a few topics by adding the rest of the discussion we had offline on Biofilms, by adding a topic on Active Chlorine Level and Disinfection By-Products (DBPs) based on another thread on this site, and I added some info to start the Chlorine / Cyanuric Acid (CYA) Relationship discussion.

I've been busy so haven't been able to fill in all the discussion topics to get them going, so I ask you for your vote as to which ones you want to see first or if you want other topics added.  The ones left to fill in are:

Lowering Total Alkalinity (TA)

Breakpoint Chlorination

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)

Total Alkalinity (TA) and pH Effects

Phosphates and Phosphate Removers

Any preferences on priorities?  Any other suggestions on content or organization?

Thanks for this group Richard. What a great resource for all of us, "why does it do that" guys out here.

Love the idea of this group, Richard. I teach a chemical class for customers at our various Open House events and definitely find this useful.

I will be moving some of the more technical discussions I have had that have occurred in PGN forums and blogs into forums in this group.  Not everyone is interested in such discussions and sometimes other topics are hijacked.  I can also manage and organize posts better within a group.
