Has anyone openned an olympic size pool (71m.) before? I mean the 'First' filling and operating of the pumps and filters. I would enjoy and conversion...or two.
You should take a look at the pending CDC Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) "Disinfection & Water Quality" module that just closed for public comment. Section 18.104.22.168.1.1 completely bans use of Cyanuric Acid (CYA) in "aquatic venues designed primarily for diaper-aged children (children < 5 years old), such as wading pools, water activity pools, interactive water features with no standing water, spray pads" where secondary disinfection systems (UV or ozone) are also required and CYA is also banned in "therapy pools and spas and indoor venues."
It is unclear as to how your "Play Area" will be classified.
I have been the operator for the past 8 years with a three pool system with a total of 150,000 gallons of water. Next month, we breakground on a new Aquatic Centre. It will have a 71 meter 'olympic pool.' hot tub (45 person) and "Play Area." with slides, splash stuff, flowrider, etc. My guess is that it will be over one million gallons of water. I would enjoy starting a coversation with operators who look after such pool systems.
