Set Yourself Apart - Competing with Box Stores

For instance, their April Issue has an article titled "Competing With the Masses - New Ways to Differentiate Specialty Retail Stores." You probably want to read it:

New Book - The Pool Safety Resource

I am pleased to announce the publication of my new book called The Pool Safety Resource, available on Amazon or Borders website.

I wrote the book to help parents identify the risks their pool presents to their family and how they can mitigate those risks.

It took me two years to get to this point - but there is a lot of work to do - please share your thoughts with me so I can expand and update the information to include popular solutions in…

Affordable water fun ideas

Spring is in the air...FINALLY......for us in Northern Alberta where is has been a long, cold winter.

Summer is fast upon us.  I am a new Pool Genius member and also new to blogging so forgive me if my blog is too long.  I am still trying to learn the nuances.

As a creative designer and equipment supplier for waterslides, children water play and water spray attractions, I am interested to see where people think the market is going these…

Do liquid blankets really work?

Do liquid blankets really work?

I am looking for someone with real life experience with the different brands of liquid pool blanket.

Do the work?

Which one works best ?

Which one is most cost beneficial?

Any experiences in the upper part of US would be appreciated.

My customers trust me to do what is best for them.

I want to live up that trust.

Please email your opinions and experiences to me at…

Do You Go the Extra Mile for Your Customers?

Every now and then I am faced with a horribly frustrating situation where it seems that there is no acceptable solution. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, I either find that the person on the other end of whatever conundrum may be happening will react in one of two ways:

  1. DEMAND compensation for their trouble or,

Are you planting in rocky soil?

I was listening to a folk song on the radio and the song was about "planting in stony ground". As I listened I realized the message of the song could have, maybe even should have been directed toward small business owners.

Equipment explosion or damage because of accidental valve closure

Does anyone have stories ( true) or knowledge of damage to people or equipment that were the result of improper valve closure. I occasionally hear stories at my supplier but have not had any first hand experience. I would appreciate any feed back, humorous or otherwise.  Thanks, Mark
