Jeff, first I use Kim Skinner's bicarb startup method.  I've used this on new plaster, re-plaster and on polished plaster.  I have also added the bicarb after the pool is filled and the plaster seems to still dust some when the bicarb is added after the pool is filled.  When the bicarb is added to the fill water the plaster tends not to dust.  A pebble pool is a lot like a polished pool.  We acid wash the plaster to expose the marble and polish it down.  In my opinion the pools just startup nicer with the bicarb method.  Check out Kim Skinners Page

Hey Jeff,   It's winter in Seattle so that means slow.  But I seem to keep busy with re-surfacing indoor hotel pools.  I also keep up my maintenance routes unless it snows or freezes.  So far this season I've only missed one day of maintenance due to freezing(I can't open the covers for fear of wearing a hole in the cold fabric).  I am a one person company so I can work as much or little as I need to.  My data base keeps me busy

Hope you have a fun time in Spokane.  You ought to take Cammie to the indoor water park around Post Falls, ID
