On this island, we have 2 main suppliers that warehouse products from most manufacturers. One is mostly wholesale to the industry, No prices are marked on the shelves, and they double the price if a homeowner walks in. The other sells to homeowners and industry, and just started giving almost wholesale pricing to homeowners, which has a few industry folks a bit riled up.
Of course, we also have Sam's Club, Costco, Home Depot and Lowes for basic chemicals and supplies...
Funny guy - relocation here is tax-deductible, but rarely paid by employers, and without a 6 figure income here you might go homeless - cost of living is huge in HI because "Everything" is shipped in, except tropical fruits and grass skirts :-)
Hey Scott! Did you see the response Richard gave to your question on the SeaKlear group wall? That pretty much sums it up :) I would recommend chatting with our chemical expert Terry Arko as well. He's on the PGN as well..
The Ashland VA branch brought in Ecosavr this year, and Longs SC started with Heatsavr last year. In SC, Imperial and SCP carry our products, but there is CERTAINLY room for another Distributor. I know that Tiffany Albright has our programs, but if you would like to send me your email address, I would be happy to offer more details.
I am quite familiar with Pool Builders Supply. Two of your branches have recently started promoting our liquid pool covers and doing quite well with them.
I am not necessarily surprised that Distributor's are facing the same complaints as Manufacturers - it seems like there are certain businesses that give the whole industry a reputation. Hopefully, "we" can provide a united front and overcome the Retailer's complaints!
Hey Scott,
Unfortunately I will not be attending. Some pretty major expenses have come up and the company I work for will not cover the expense of going.
