We are planning on installing a sacrificial anode on a granite water feature with stainless steel grating.  The grating is rusting/deteriorating, possibly at weld sites and looking to slow down the degradation.  Is Zinc the best metal to use?

We installed a Eco-Star on a X-10 controlled system, After install, all X-10 went dead.  XPF noise reducers have not solved the problem.  Anyone had issues w/ X-10 & Variable speed?  Client is not interested (budgetary) in moving to a control system at this time.
