  • Sorry for the late reply. I invented silicone rubber grout. Silicone grout is necessary to complete the adhesion process. When it's pushed threough the grout joint it adhers to the fiberglass surface. I only compound it in white and grey, however this slow cure oxime product can be any color you want. Extrude 2 tubes into a cardboard bucket. Add powdered color and mix with a paint mixer attached to an electric drill. Repeat the process until the job is complete.
  • Thanks bill , pretty much as i suspected , like the dusting advice , sorry about the poorly structured question , the computer added a sentance mid stream in my question , rendered my question nonsence , glad you were able to decypher it . thanks again simon
  • Not totally sure I understand,but.... If you grout with a cement based grout that hardens, the expansion/contraction rate of the shell far exceeds the elasticity of the grout. When the shell is expanded the grout falls out and goes scuba diving. When the shell contracts the immoveable (noncompressable) grout pops tiles. If you are unhappy with the limited grout colors available for silicone based grout we have been very successful with dusting the silicone grout with colored cementitious grout before it skins over. Forms a thin layer that has been working for years for us in Montana (burrr), Calif (sweltering) and New Mexico (both).

    Peace

    Bill
