Does anyone know of or are having problems with the pentair /compool valve actuators? I have had to replace at least a dozen of these in the last year alone. My feeling is it is the toggle switch, but not sure.

Yes I took out the circuit board and seems to be the dpdt switch that is the problem, there is signs of arcing on the terminals coming out of the switch. It is probably a few $ part instead of replacing actuator for a couple hundred. Of course I would like to have someone with a electronic troubleshooting experience check it. Thanks for the reply.

It wasnt until you mentioned actuator problems that I've had to replace 4 of them in the last 3 weeks. Yeah, theres an issue, just as you described. Seems as though the circuit board inside the actuator is an issue.

Thank you for replying to my discussion, but the problem i'm having is the actuator quits working altogether. I've talked to Pentair warranty rep, and it seems they have some kind of problem with a number of actuators.
The only issue we have found with Compool or Jandy is when you have more than one valve and they are wired in a series. You have to make sure you plumb so that both or more valve are turning the same distance. We had a project where one valve wwas turning 90* and the other was turning 180* Although the valve tries to stop at the proper point, it is still getting an electrical signal to move until the second valve reaches it's stopping point. It took a couple of trips and a replacement actuator to figure out we were chewing up cams. Hope this helps.

ive not experienced many actuator problems w/ pentair. a few but not many. I've seen a whole bunch of bad water temps sensors fail prematurely for the automation packages. I had to go save a lady this evening with her water temp sensor that has split open.
