Cover Steps or what?

I have a customer who is going to replace their liner. They have center end steps, white, standard type. They were stained (black/dark grey) during the concrete pour a couple of years ago. What are my options. They DO NOT want white steps anymore. Can I paint them? I've heard liner over them will be a mess.

Any suggestions? Thanks ~ Wes

  • i forget how much the kit was you can check thier website they have a catolog right there. and again i'm not the one who does the fiberglassing so i'm not sure how he does it....yet! but as soon as i talk him into to showing me this year i will let you know. i'm looking to do them myself cause the guy i use charges a hefty sum almost a "g" and i would like to keep that money in house if i can
  • Thanks. I can see them fine. That's a huge difference.

How did you spray the fiberglass? What was the cost of the Anderson injector unit?

    I appreciate your help.

are they one piece fiberglass white steps? if they are try muratic acid when you are changing out the liner. i pour some on all my steps and then scrub them and rinse and just about everytime they come out looking brand new. putting vinyl over fibglass steps would not be ideal you don't vinyl line a step unless they are built for that. you can always have them recoated with fiberglass. i'll try and look for some pics to show you, it really looks nice, almost brand new

  • Thanks Luke.
  • Thanks Luke. What type of paint would you use? Poly-one -Coat, epoxy, a standard pool paint?

I am sure you could paint them. I am sure you'd want to paint it a few days before you drop the liner. I'd put some mats or paint tape over the steps so your guys don't damage them with sand or spill something on them while you are putting the liner in.
