I just finished the installation of an Inter-Fab slide... Actually, I thought I was finished - BUT I'm not!
This is the first slide that I have installed from Inter-Fab, and there are NO BONDING clamps, screws, anything!!! NOTHING!
When I called their tech department I was told "We don't have do anything about bonding, because that is controlled by your local jurisdiction, and varies from state to state."
When I told her that the MINIMUM standard that ANY state can adhere to was the NEC she simply repeated the same line... UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Now I have to figure out a way to bond all 4 legs, the 2 brackets which hold the stairs down (and are powder-coated) and the 2 SS railings for the ladder, AND make it all look nice for the client!
I was VERY polite, didn't raise my voice at all, no cursing at all... BUT when I informed the technician that I was speaking to that I was very disappointed, and would probably never use any of their products again, I was hung up on!!!
I cannot believe that this is allowed to go on in this industry! If this was a FULL custom installation, then I would expect that these kind of things would need to be figured out, BUT this is a prefabbed, bolt together kit that MUST be mounted within 5' of the pool -- ITS A SLIDE. and yet they make no allowances for Bonding anywhere! WOW!
Consider yourself warned... And make sure that you budget some extra time and $$ if you are forced to install an Inter-Fab slide.

Each Metal piece is fully independant, and therefore all 8 must be bonded separately.
Per NEC any Metal within 5' of the pool must be bonded...
I just think that these are being installed not to code... Which we as an industry should not allow, and we should require that the manufacturers that we purchase from make it somewhat reasonable to be code compliant.

Are you able to add a "lay-in" bonding connector to one leg? Are all legs required, are the legs not a continuous piece? How frustrating? Anyone else have any installation experience on the slide? I have none, as they don't typically break. Though a customer asked me to re-route the water supply to one once things warm up around here.
