I'm installing a salt chlorine generator system in a newly-tiled pool; not plaster, but mosaic tile on the whole pool.

The Pentair IC40 and Power Center literature recommends not adding salt for 30 days to a newly plastered pool, but it does not address newly mosaic-tiled pools.

Would you treat the newly tiled pool the same as a newly plastered pool at startup with regard to the new salt system?

Thanks,

Scott

  • Hi,

If it is glass mosaic and epoxy grout is used then you can go ahead used any product.

  • anytime! check out the intellichem system also. it is a great add on to the intellichlor.

  • Thanks - more conservative to wait. No rush.

    Appreciate your response.

    Aloha

  • it can't hurt to wait 30 days. your tile does have grout that isn't fully cured....so I would probably wait. most likely, you'd have no issue adding the salt now, but what take the risk? use some liquid chlorine for the first 30 days then add salt, IMO.
