Service Route Management Programs?

Anybody out there have any suggestions?

 

Looking for a computerized program that sets and tracks service route visits (2 service trucks/techs - cleaning and maintaining pools and salt gen pools) as well as Tech Ticket jobs (6 techs that drive around and fix things - fix pump, sand change, light pull, etc... "come fix it" tickets)

 

Ideally, would like it to track jobs and service calls for the day, have the tech perhaps send an "i'm done" message via blackberry after each is completed - the office would get that message and then, when customers call our office to ask when the tech will be there, the receptionist can view it on the shared schedule and let them know an answer without having to track everyone down by phone

 

there has to be something out there that does this - similar to what i have seen the local cable company (Comcast) techs use - they have a phone/computer system type thing on their belt with a touch screen - it allows them to see their jobs for the day and to check off each time they finish so their office can answer customers questions - the tech also gets up in the morning and can view the list of jobs for the day as the home office enters the tickets for the day

 

Anyone have any experience with something similar to this?

  • There is a computer program called Clipp for pool service prof
  • Zodiac has a builder management program and just came out with a service module. It is all web based so no software to buy and alll records are maintianed on their secure server. Can be accessed by anyone with a web enabled device. I haven't used either one but saw a demo of the builder program at an APSP meeting a few months ago. The just sent me the link to the service program. Very affordable and they have a free trial right now. I don't know if they integrate with Quickbooks or not for accounting.

    I purchased ServiceCEO a while back but never have had time to implement it. It is very robust and integrates with Quickbooks for the chart of accounts. I am considering my options at this point.

  • I am looking for an application like Proegde that is Microsoft RMS and GreatPlains compatable.  Are you aware if Proedge is?  Any other suggestions out there?

He should be expecting your contact.  There is a local training (your in the Atlanta, GA market right?) coming up soon.  I think its a training more than a presentation.  The company does a roadshow training session. I'm signed up for the one in Orlando in January.  Ask Gabriel about the upcoming session and if you'll benefit from it.  The session is put on by the head programmer, looking for input and offering the latest in response to users feedback.

    I just made the leap to it last month. Within the 1st week its already paid for itself w/ efficiency at which my office staff can now move. They handle a majoirty of the incoming phone calls, all the scheduling, routing, and invoicing.  We (me and the guys in the field) get a PDA (windows smartphone or touchscreen netbook). we see the jobs scheduled, tick them off as we do them, the office sees what we've done and comments, parts used, time in / out at the jobsite, job is marked complete or incomplete by the field tech. Customer signs the PDA (no more carbon copy workorders). Tech records form of payment as well as the model and serial and types of equipment at the jobsite, notes about the pool etc.  Its a beautiful solution to our needs here. it is meant to take the one guy operation to a more guy operation.  A lot of users of the software are 5 truck outfits. Me, im still one truck on the verge of 2 trucks. =)

    Its incredibly affordable. I pay $100 per month per truck.  Updates are made frequently and the company refuses to turn you loose on your own so as to not fail at this.
