We had a client with a large commercial pool inform us that they were getting water in one of the pumps in the pump room on Friday. We visited the site and realized that one of the plugs in the main drain must have given way(this particular pool with a surge tank as well, gets drained and winterized and then refilled). Today this tech drew the short straw and had to go replace it.

Nah Jeremy - we have an internal team that do our leak detection - just chiming in on "frozen pool picture" topics. Thanks though
Charles, do you mean to say, that you need help with leak detection in your areas?

You guys are making me cold just looking at this! I promise never to complain that the water is too cold ever again!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one diving thru the ice to repair pool leaks. I did 2 Ice Pools last week in Conn. Great photo! I would suggest a full face mask setup, It completly covers all exposed face skin, allows for voice communication to surface staff as well. The best drysuits are the only way to do this.

Thanks Don, most of our employees share the same attitude that we get done what needs done. In this case it needed to be addressed. What we do is offer our employees the best in technology, tools, and gear. The tech is using an arctic dry suit which keeps his entire body warm and makes the job completely safe. I have found, both as a tech and now as service manager, that when the company and all of its employees work together and look out for each other, that rarely are there complaints, whether it be the long hours, 5 am calls for service, or getting in a frozen pool when it is 15 degrees outside. It all boils down to teamwork, which then allows you to offer the best service to the customer.
