Air Vent for VE System....

Hello to All,We have, two VE Pools this Year Already. One Vinyl and One Gunite. The reason for the Discussion is we have Never Used Check Valves on The VE Basin Pump. I was just Woundering The Different ways Orther Companys, have put an Air Vent System on the Presure Side of this Pump? To Stop the Chance of Back Flow, And Draining the Main Pool. We have always put a Waterfeature on the Preasure side of the Basin Pump, teed off of the Main Line that Creates The Air Vent, when the Basin Pump is turned off.

  • We pipe a Hartford Loop to the deck level of the upper pool and install a 3/4 in. vac breaker in a tee at the top of the loop. The method you've been using sounds fine and serves the same purpose. Adding a check valve will allow for faster feature startup.
  • Plast-O-Matic makes a really good vacuum relief device that we use on our vanishing edge pools and we use check valves as well.
Normally we put the vanishing edge pump at the catch pool level and the vanishing edge filtration at the pool level and install the vacuum relief there.
