If you've been to any home shows or are planning to exhibit at any home shows in 2011, I'd love to hear about it - which ones, what you get out of it, etc.  I have plans to attend a large home show in Valley Forge in March but am interested in exploring others.  Thanks!

  • I have many builders in my market of South Carolina who find it beneficial to participate in the Home Shows.  It seems like most shows have 4-5 different pool builders and the results are mixed.  Those that invest in a large booth with samples to showcase their products do best.  I have seen fiberglass builders bring in a few pools for display and companies that do custom decks or pavers typically have a small display area as well.
  • We will be doing the San Diego Spring Home and Garden Show in March (4, 5 and 6).  I'll try and put some pictures up when we are done, Luke.  Hope you can wait that long.....
  • I attend the local home show here in Gainesville Florida, held in early March. In fact we were just discussing earlier this evening how we would build the booth differently. I have had moderate success with the home show. It a rather small crowd, maybe 6,000 come thru, and there's 250 vendors. I've exhibited since 2005 each year a bit different. I sell half a dozen pumps, lots of service calls for hot tub repairs, and sell a few salt chlorinators as a result of someone seeing me at the show. Just yesterday I was at the home of a variable flow pool pump customer who saw me at the show this past March.
