Hello everyone,

Look forward to seeing some of you in Vegas.  However, before I close up shop here in MA I was wondering if any of you could tell me how to close a pool with a self cleaning system like paramount. I find my self turning a lot of business down because I am not quite sure how to handle this properly.  I do not have a compressor yet.  However, I will for next season.

Thanks in advance,

Eric

  • some times you can use super glue (pvc glue will not work and thats a fact ) and a peice of 3/4 inch pcv sometimes sometimes you just need to dig and cut

Funny you should mention that, and the shop vac didn't work so I actually ended up cutting pipe and using a union and coupling to repair my mistake. After fixing everything I finally came out with a good way to get the plug out by basically making an animal control pole out of some fishing line and small diameter copper pipe to grab onto the next of the wingnut

you can use #8 plugs, just watch out you don't drop it down the pipe, if you do drop one down you can use a shop vac to get it out (sometimes)

I used the cyclone vac to blow out the paramount system, but those orange plugs are more difficult to put quickly into place. I think I might use a compressor next year. I'm not a fan of how they designed the paramount, if they would of designed it slightly different regular rubber plugs could be used.

  • nice pdf
  • no way. there is not really enough room to do the ready 1,2,3, plug with a helper. the only way is to use a air chuck and a blow throw plug.that is one line you dont want to bake. if there is no water in the line there is no need for antifreeze. now if i only could find a job

That does look like a pain. Any chance you could just use a funnel with hose attached and add antifreeze to that one line attached to the floor suction? Well, i guess if you have something that works, and works well then no need for antifreeze

  • Ive never had to winterize those before.. only the floor jets. This maybe some help to the origional poster.

  • yes you need to put a air lock on the side going to the md and only thing that works is a blow throw plug
