Concrete Pool Deck Cracks

I am looking for some feedback on repairing deck cracks. I was speaking to a very seasoned pool builder that said he uses fiberglass to effect repairs. I had not heard of this solution but he insists that he's never had a recall on the repair. Anyone else tried this method, or do you have another suggestion that works well. I am not speaking of major ground prep problems.......thanks in advance for your input.

  • Yor asking a lot of this old dinosaur Jeremy, that video thing aint likely. Work the dry mix into the crack in a perpendicular
direction. The humidity will cause it to set up overnight. Learned this about 20 yrs. ago from an old pool builder in his seventies.

Getting fiberglass to bond with concrete is a hit-or-miss proposition in my experience. The contractors that fiberglass gunite pools do have success though, so it is possible. I use a flowable sealer that can be squeezed or poured into the crack and then top with a dry portland mix, applied with a barely damp sponge.
