OMG my favorite site is laggy... or maybe it's me

Ray and I have been going back and forth trying to figure out why it takes so long for me to load some pages on PGN.Sometimes things load very quickly and other times it takes several minutes to load a page. Typically it takes a long time when loading the home page, but seems to occur randomly throughout the site.I think I've wasted enough of Ray's time trying to trouble shoot this problem--I don't want to waste yours. I don't want you to waste your time trying to trouble shoot my problem, but instead I'd like to be sure that it is just happening to me and not others. If it's happening to others then it means something's wrong with the site and Ray and the gang need to know about it--if it's just me then I need to find my own personal computer geek to help me.So the question: Is PGN laggy for you?

    It's been better the past few days. I haven't had any time to do anything (thank god) including testing this problem, but I think it may be fixed.

    I too have noticed, and didnt know if it was just me. I have often moved on to something else while the PGN site was loading. Oddly enough it loaded fine and didnt have any problems.

    I run Windows XP Pro with SP3
    Firefox browser
    Pent 4 2.66Ghz
    1 GB Ram
    DSL Cable 11.3 down, 1.7 up
    Antivirus is AVG

    let me know if you need additonal info.

    I haven't experienced much lag, since you updated the site and presumably started using multiple servers? Seems to work great, love the site.

    Yes the scrolling pics was an experiment and it definately had an effect of site speed. That's why we took it down. The new "Chat" runs on a separate server so as not to bog down the site.

    Initial photo loads can be an issue, as can video loads.

    Could it be the ammount of photos on the site? I experience the same situation on PGN.

I have noticed that it at least for us has been only after their was a Scrolling pics. at the top of the home page, of who was on line.
