Proteam's System Support In action or Alka Seltzer for your pool

A while back someone asked to see Proteam's System Support in action. I found a video I had shot and thought I would post it. It really cool how it works the organics to the top and makes skimming them out a breeze. It looks like you toss in about 50,000 Alka Seltzer tablets.

 

This pool was a mess! The System Support (SS) did make clean up easier, but it is expensive. Specs say to adjust Ph to 7.2, then add 1 lb of SS for every 1,000 gallons then immediately follow with 3/4 Ph down.

    Don,

    I have used it often and love it. You are right, in the over all scheme it is less expensive, because of the fewer man hours.

    That is a good idea about flat rating a green to clean.

    Wes,   System support is a fantastic product.  I have actually sold it to a couple of customers who have purchased homes that have pools that have been neglected since they were foreclosed on.  The system support is actually much more cost effective for the home owner that cleaning out the pool, doing algae treatments, etc.  I spoke with Don Girvan from Haviland at recent SCP open house.  A number of service companies that are using system support are able to go to relestate companies and give them flat rates to clean up "swamp" condition pools.  Because the system support is doing the majority of the work you can give flat rate prices and it is harder for your competition to quote against you because they do not know how many man hours the job would actually take.

     

    The once you see this stuff in action, in person, you will swear by it.

    The ProTeam® Pool Care website has a link to their own video here showing how their product raises leaves and other organic material from the bottom of a pool.  It's pretty cool to watch.

    I'm not sure about a flocculant affecting chemicals but the Revive is a combination phosphate remover and flocculant but also removes 2 ppm of copper and iron as well...great for start-ups!!

    Revive appears to be a combination phosphate remover and flocculant.  When you say that other flocculants affect your chemicals, what do you mean?

    If you want to ease things even more since you've put the proteam in the next step would be to use 2 qt of revive which will drop the algae for easy vaccuming. You'll also need to shock as well usually about 15 lbs. The revive doesn't affect your chemicals like flock does. Once you've added the revive the next day you should have a close to crystal clear pool.

    Good move not starting the pump yet. I beieve you'll find a different pool there today.
