All pool plaster finishes should last 20 years or more. However, some last only 5 to 7 years, and some less than a year before the plaster surface deteriorates, discolors, and looks terrible.
Why the difference? Very often, plaster…

February is a great time of year to be in Florida - Orlando is an affordable destination and this is a well established regional show.
On the PGN main page there is a link to a recent Aqua article with more info about the show's emphasis on education and the "green" industry.

We are still debating over the Western show. It is a service-oriented show, so there won't be the retail segment. It is in Long Beach, though, which is sure to be a beautiful trip. Other than those shows, we'll have representation at many of the smaller industry table-top shows, but unless you have reps to go to their regional shows, it is hard to attend all of these due to the travel expenses.
I look forward to the AC show every year just to see the folks I haven't seen for a year and do some mingling. The only thing I miss from the "OLD DAYS" is the original location on the boardwalk, gone now, but the ambiance of that old place will forever be in my heart.

We also attend the Minnesota State Fair its a cheap way for us to get in front of 1.5 million people in 11 days. We plan on exhibiting in the Renewable Energy Showcase Building this up coming year. Normally we like to sandwich into the home improvement building but this year it will make more sense to go where we belong. Cal Spas does a huge display at the fair including sponsoring shows etc.. Jeff this may be a good place for you to look into.
Merry, they say liner pools are taking hold in Texas, do you see any evidence of that? If so, maybe I should look into the shows you refer to.
I've only ever been to the Atlantic City Pool and Spa Show, but they say it's the best and the only one worth going to for a liner manufacturer. Furthermore, it's pretty damn cheap: $1560 for APSP members and first time non-members for a 10x10 booth.
Unfortunately, the registration deadline was Dec 5th, but you can contact them to see if you can get in--there seems to be some space available. Their number is (609) 689-9111
We scanned employees from 107 different companies last year and we picked up a number of new customers. They also give you a list of all the attendees from the show for further solicitation.
The show is fairly regional (North East/East Coast), but I suspect it would be a good audience for you--our attics are hot and our pools are cold.
At the very least, you should take a trip to see what it's all about, and maybe get some ideas for next year. If you do, stop by our booth: 3151. I think the wife is giving away chocolate again this year.
Good luck, and feel free to contact me with any questions.
