  • I think that many of us on PGN found out how important it was for our business to be web active and have devoted our time to promoting our business.  The economy also mandated this as well as possible less workers employed and change of business strategy.  Also, we are all in Facebook!  I have missed posting here and will add this to my daily posts if possible for the new year.  Merry Christmas.

Holy shnikes, I thought I cancelled this discussion before it went out. Actually what I meant is what happened to the active participants on Pool Genius. Am I just not seeing anyone or is there really only about a dozen people who contribute to the site. The majority of people on my friends havnt logged on in over six months.

    Have fun in Vegas though
  • Kevin,

I suggest you contact Bruce Wettstein here in PGN for your green to clean. He has a cool set up for this type of work. You may not need him, but then again, you never know. I've always said the default answer is no, until you ask.

Good luck in the Vegas Valley!

    Wes

Im a newbee to the site and so far i have liked what i have seen!! As with everything it all takes time to get rolling and people contributing and i look forward to networking with you guys, Oh and i am in Vegas and there is allot  of foreclosure work to be had here like green to cleans and equipment reinstalls as the previous owners took it with them. I shall spread the word about PGN to the many pool guys in the vegas valley!!

  • I have been a participant for only a few days and have noticed many pool professionals in my area that haven't participated in a long time.  I am very excited about this forum and can only suggest getting PGN to as many peers as possible.  We all talk with people in the business who seem to be on the peripheral of discussions and those who are always up for pool related discourse.  I suggest an invitation to the latter.

  • Hi Don,

I enjoy your posts; lots of good ideas and observations. I have not been here on PGN for a while as it has been a very busy few months and as my business niche is very small and specific I don't have a much to add about a lot of things! There's only so many times I can blog about the added value of using design software! I do recommend the PGN many times every week as I use it as part of my cold call marketing strategy - "check out my page". I think it adds some credibility to my product pitch and I have definitely made sales via the PGN. I think you will see more active participation during the winter months. Keep up the good work & good luck with your career!

  • Thanks for participating, lending your knowledge as well.

I also wanted to tip my hat to Don for this thread. It's a good description from Rex the differences on here vs APSP & Crackbook.. I get some info from the APSP site (mostly industry status), but almost all of my hands on knowledge is gleaned from here.

Thanks to all who have, are, and will teach me stuff about how to do, run, and succeed in my pool business endeavors.

Well, I must say..."I am guilty as charged." When the season hit full tilt, I barely even logged on. Now, since it has become a steady flow of work, I will participate more. I don't really know what I can contribute, except ask a lot of questions, but that's really what this is for, to share Q&A with our peers.

Scott hit the nail on the head....regarding Facebook vs here. All I see from Crackbook is a long discussion bouncing around. And frankly, there are certain people (outside our industry) I don't want seeing some of the business we discuss here. Just my opinion on the Crackbook matter.
